Flashback Fun

From time-to-time, whenever I visit my parent’s house I dig into old scrapbooks and photo albums. I find it fun to look back on old photos of friends, embarrassing middle school photos and just cute pictures of growing up. Recently, Raleigh has received lots of snow and ice, which means I go camp out at my parent’s. It’s cozy.

Again, I found myself browsing my scrapbook from my 16th birthday. Here are a few gems….

Denver Zoo- age 6 with my friend, Maren, and little brother, Sean.

Me, skateboarding, 18 months. No, my parents did not know what their siblings were up to with their daughter. Yes, they were slightly bothered.

One of my favorite photos of all time. Ninth grade. Still friends with these folks to this day. In order L-to-R: Paul (in med school), Sarah (Americorps- Habitat for Humanity; Traveling girl.), Me, Jon (married, working on Ph. D.). What a great group.

Tennis camp at NC State University. I must’ve been 12/13, Lauren (10?), Sean (8?). Lauren is one of my best friends to this day.

Looking back on these photos and many more are just a reminder of what a blessed childhood I really had- and the amazing people that I’m lucky enough to still have in my life.
