In college I had an amazing opportunity to intern with an agency that worked with St. Baldrick’s, a non-profit cancer foundation that encourages adults and children alike to raise money to stop kids’ cancer by shaving their heads in solidarity with those children who have lost their hair from cancer treatments. Working to help grow this foundation was an amazing experience, and since then I have absolutely LOVED seeing all the new St. Baldrick’s parties popping up around Raleigh.
NOW, I’m even more proud to say that Those Guys, my dear group of friends, has assembled a team of fine young men who have heads to shave!! I am so blessed to have such a generous group of friends that create and plan opportunities to help our community and our kids. I am currently growing out my hair to donate it to Locks of Love, but will definitely be at Napper Tandy’s on March 5th, adorned in my Those Guys attire- cheering them on!

As crazy as it may seem, I’ve taken a break from kickball this fall and moved onto bigger and better things, er- flag football. Our team is Those Guys, literally. Anyways, this team is built up with some amazing people who I’m lucky enough to call my friends. Friends who don’t judge, but rather laugh with you, which came in handy last night.
Scene: Fifteen seconds left on the clock. Third and goal, guess who ends up open at the goal line? Me. Slow motion, QB opens up, I see it coming and then out of nowhere I find myself screaming “NOOOOO.” Seeing that ball come at me from halfway down the field, knowing that it would be worse to catch it and drop it then to miss it all together— the pressure was too much.
LUCKILY, I caught it.
Touchdown, Those Guys.
